Camping

We went with some friends up to Soap Stone just past Woodland. We took Charlotte and Isabel. Luckily we borrowed Roland's tent because ours was too small for everyone. Once we set ours up we realized the zipper was broken. So I slept in Roland's tent with all the kids. Ryan slept in our tent and eventually took Matthew in with him. It was cold and both boys woke up and slept with Ryan and I. It was a long night. Ryan and I aren't much for camping but our kids like it so much so once a year we agree to do it. Our friends brought a four wheeler and their razor. Our kids were in heaven. Nathan took his BB gun and had a blast shooting cans. We ate really well. Poor Michael threw up four times on our way up and three times at camp on Friday. He just wanted to be held that day. But by Saturday he seemed lots better and had some energy and appetite.

These girls were picking flowers and building fire pits the second we arrived.

Sizzler

We went to Sizzle Friday with all the kids. They were relatively good but it's so much easier leaving them home with a sitter. Which we did the following night. The ice cream was definitely the highlight for the four kids.

Maybe Natalie Takes after Grandma Scherbel

Tonight as I go into Natalie's room this is how she has her bed ready for the night.

It's not even that hot in here. She would die in Battipaglia:)

Picnic in our backyard

Nathan asked to take cold lunch today. So as I was getting it ready last night Natalie asked if I'd pack her a lunch in her lunch box too. She wanted a picnic in our backyard. So I packed all the kids a lunch for today and the three younger ones and I had a picnic. It amazes me what a change in venue will do. My kids are so happy to be outside eating. And under the shade from our trees the weather is perfect.
