Blessing Dress

I decided to work on this baby's blessing dress while Ryan was at Scout camp last week. So that is what I did with my Friday Night and most of Saturday. I taught myself to smock first. It is actually quite easy and a lot of fun. I haven't ever really sewn clothing from a pattern unless of course you count the cowboy vest and chaps I made for Nathan last Halloween. This was a bit different. But the directions for sewing were very clear and I was able to do it. The pictures don't really do it justice. But here they are:

Darling dress! I've always wanted to learn to smock (although I guess not bad enough or I would have done it). You did a beautiful job. I can't wait to see that sweet little girl in it. It won't be long now! (And I am trying my darndest to get you released from your Cubs calling BEFORE then!)
